Leonardo

Before this year began I had drawn this piece with all four turtles but it was until last month that it was actually worked on any further, my reason being was that I had been awaiting the arrival of some new fine liners which I received recently. And with that I did one thing I had particularly wanted to so, isolate this part of the drawing.

I like to think that I favour each of the turtles equally, but when it comes to drawing them Leonardo is a clear favourite. I scanned the drawing of him and used some tips I had learnt from DrawingWiffWaffles about using gradients and cell shading. The colour scheme is primarily based on the 80's TV cartoon incarnation, but his skin and blue come from the Nickeloden 2012 Leonardo.

I can't find the original pose that I drew inspiration from to create this, but I can tell you it was of the Mirage Leonardo in a black and white piece. You may notice a lack of fingers on his hand and this is because the style I was drawing in was more simplistic, but the feet are identical in style to the Drawson style I use today.

I'm sorry to say that I will not be doing this for all four of the turtles and that this is only for Leonardo. But when I finish the full piece I might put it up on the blog for you to see.
