Xiomara Clements

In the last post you were introduced to Ida Noe's cousin, so this little sketch is dedicated to her. I'll also be sharing information about this character.

Xiomara (nickname 'X') comes from the Grecian side of Ida's family (Ida's mother's side) and is the best at speaking English in her family unit. She lived in Greece at a young age but has spent most of her life in Jansterwick.

Xiomara is bipolar and expresses particularly strong emotions very often. There seem to be two identifiable personalities with her in which one is manic, energetic and rambunctious while the other is more depressed, pessimistic and unmotivated.

She attends West Coast Academy and is a part of their debating guild. Her expressive attitude sees to it that no debate goes without her opinion being heard, even if allowing a debate to become a little unbalanced. Xiomara's ambition is to become a sports analyst but in the meantime she is preparing to study law.

So that's Xiomara, hope you like her design and are keen to see this character again in future!

Cousins

I was given a character prompt after holding a discussion related to Ida Noe. As a result to this design idea, this doodle was created.

The end result is Ida Noe's cousin, named Xiomara Clements. Her design s intentionally similar to Ida's in a few ascepts. Firstly Xiomara's design is inspired by an exclamation mark, much like Ida's question mark features. Secondly to hint that they are related, their colour scehemes are very similar. The major differences are that instead of blue and gold, Xiomara's design features green and grey. This is in addition to yellow and white, Xiomara's colour scheme is slightly more expanded than Ida's.

The illustration was prompted by a template I found on Pinterest, I think you can find it on my 'prompts' gallery if you go on my Pinterest. If you want to learn more about Xiomara, come back next time to hear all about her when she features in her own piece!

The Swimsuit Episode

Droey and his friends live near the sea, but they've never been seen going near the beach! It's time that was taken care of.

This was going to be a more crowded illustration but it was the first video I had recorded in a long time and I really wanted something easier so that I could enjoy making the piece; this explains the simplified style as well. Sorry John and the Katou twins, but maybe they'll get their beach day soon.

Since Anne's at the beach I thought it would make sense for Quinman to be at the beach. He's managed to get possession of an ice-cream van and is ready to sell ice-creams; Albiona has been one of his customers today. While she enjoys her ice-cream, Quinman just waits, hoping that Anne will approach to get an ice-cream and then give him the opportunity to break the ice.

I always used to sculpt with sand when I was at the beach. I'm not the relaxing type, I prefer to do things. So here I have Droey working on a sand sculpture. Do you recognize his creation? It's the Teletubbies house, and sadly once the tide comes in this one is going to be flooded out as well.

Evangeline is sat on a deck chair while she reads 'Shark'. I hadn't used Evangeline in a while so I decided to bring her back for the YouTube video to grant her a bit of attention. I actually based her beach wear on the character design for Nellie the Elephant!

And I suppose Anne Natalie is where the fan service kicked in! Our towel sporting model has removed the towel to lay on it, but of course she's got a swimsuit underneath to protect her privacy. She didn't forget her sun-cream so she's in little danger of going as red as her swimsuit.

Here's the YouTube video in case you haven't seen it yet!

Agrius' Moth Manipulator

I love this artwork! It started out as just a sketch in my book then I took it onto Photoshop and the result I feel is absoloutley stunning. It was just a bit of fun to tell a short story with.

Agrius had concocted a new evil scheme that he wanted to try out. He decided to make his announcement at breakfast time. Agrius enjoyed having company in his home, he had recently gained a couple of lodgers with the intent of making them his henchmen. Finley seemed to be fine with this, Bri on the other hand is more reluctant and only helps out to prevent either Agrius or Finley from killing themselves out of stupidity!

'Finley, Bri, we have a mission to conduct!' Agrius declared as Finley served breakfast. Today it was omelets and black toast. Finley had left the toast on too long again. 'I have drafted blueprints for a device which shall bring about the darkest days for humanity, we are to begin after breakfast!'

'You know, when I said I was happy to help around the place I did not mean with your villain nonsense.' Bri sighed as she read her paper.

'We could do without your negativity, thank you.' Agrius grumbled.

'Gee boss, what's your device about? I wanna help!' Finley bubbled with anticipation.

'We're going to create, a helmet that controls moths!' Agrius declared. Bri rolled her eyes. 'With every moth in Jansterwick under my influence, I shall have every light in the land stolen and Jansterwick will plunge into darkness! Except of course, our headquarters. We will become service providers that supply light, and with an neon fist Jansterwick will be ours!' Agrius cackled while Finley applauded.

'It won't work.' Bri bluntly declared, interrupting Agrius' laughter.

'Not every evil scheme is thwarted, Bri!' Agrius snapped. 'Have you even watched The Dark Knight?'

'Nope.' Fiction won't back up your claims. Trust me, it's going to fail.'

A few days later, Agrius' moth manipulator was completed. It was time to put the helmet to the test, so Agrius was left in a room with a large collection of moths. They hadn't been able to get every moth in Jansterwick but at least it was an army enough for get things started. The helmet was activated and the Moths fluttered around, it sounded like having several helicopters surrounding Agrius!

'My fellow light seekers! I release you into the world, and to me you will bring every light you see! Fly away, and take all lights!' Agrius' commands had been very clear, and the manipulator worked! The moths did do as he declared, only there was one problem.

There were two lights on the helmet that glowed when the helmet was in power. This was the first light any moth in the room could reach and so they all went after Agrius, much to is surprise! After panicking, shouting and begging for a minute, the moths left Agrius alone and fluttered out of the window. But they had already taken the controlling helmet. Now it rested on the floor, by removing the helmet there was no one to control the moths so they had regained their free will. Agrius' scheme had failed.

I'll do another post some time about the making of this digital masterpiece, as well as a show of the traditionally produced prototype.
